Time for Change

Is the time for passive protest and resistance over in Ireland?

Look back to the mid 90s, when Ireland was suddenly awash with money - look closely at the level of criminal corruption that those entrusted with the governance of the nation chose to practice to fulfil their own greed over the following decade.

Look today to the delibarate and systematic abuse of the less fortunate by those same greedy persons who don't care what they do to protect and hold onto their ill-gotten wealth and privilidge.

Do you seriously think these people and those they employ as their lackeys have any respect for those who take to the streets in protest? Look to the Corrib abuses and arrests for just one example of many, many more examples of systematic abuse of the law and what it stands for.

If change is to come, action must be initiated on a national level without any due concern for the existing laws backing the status quo, for those same laws have been twisted and corrupted to serve the very people who stand to lose by rightful application of and adherence to the law.

Yes, the same laws that require you to apply for a 'permit to protest' amongst other dictatorial rules. The same laws that make it a criminal offence to be part of an 'illegal' organisation - which, if such laws were correctly applied in accord with the Irish Constitution, would see the bulk of the nation's politicians and those working hand in hand with them, including the criminal financiers, serving jail terms.

The time is moving towards a new form of defence (yes, defence and NOT attack) against those who are now waging war against the less fortunate within their own society.
