And give back the money he took from Shell.
Ray Burke must confess now as his health is deteriorating, fast.
He should give back the money he took from Shell, admit his guilt and let the people of Ireland have their proper share from the Corrib Gas Field.
Ireland needs that money from the gas field now as the Celtic tiger is dead.
The deal made by Ray Burke, which exempted the oil company Royal Dutch Shell from paying any royalties for the gas extracted from the Corrib Gas Field, has all the hallmarks of a corrupt decision.
Burke has admitted, in private, that he sold the exemption to Shell and that this was common practice by all ministers at that time.
He said “all the ministers, including the Taoisigh Haughey, were at it.”
This exemption should now be looked at again by the Irish government since the economic situstion in Ireland is so bad and Burke sold the gas exemption for a pittance.
Otherwise the Government, as part of their look at the economy for savings, must atke action against Shell.
