Open Day - Friday April 7th from 8am to 8pm

We would like to make you aware of two Drop In /Open Days for members of the public hosted by South Dublin County Council and Coillte on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th April 2017 at Tallaght Stadium from 8am to 8pm where the "Project Team" will be on hand to discuss the proposed development with you.

Separate opportunities to meet the Project Team are also available for representatives of local community groups. Appointments may be made at econdev@sdublincoco.ie

Maps, Drawings and other Documents Available

For the past year or more Coillte and South Dublin County Council (SDCC) have kept this massive unsustainable project fairly quite and have ignored hundreds of letters sent to the council and chairman requesting more information and consultation. Now that they are aware of the campaign and the completely undemocratic way they have gone about this project, they are making belated efforts to engage with the public and are now at short notice have two open days -one of which was earlier today and the other tomorrow Fri 11th April.

So if people can make it to the Open Day to view the plans and models on display this would be useful.

However what is really needed is a full scale review of the entire Dublin mountains that includes all the four Dublin councils and most importantly the public and various interest groups to devise a plan that firstly keeps any existing public lands public, preserves the natural beauty, wildlife and scenic views and makes it accessible for all, without imposing fees.

If we allow Coillte and SDCC to go ahead with their existing plan which is about privatisation and backdoor development then this model will be applied to the whole region and the last bit of free escape from the stresses of life that most people enjoy when visiting the Dublin mountains will become a cashcow for private entreprise.
