The sugar tax sums up Britain's descent into a technocratic dystopia, says Dr David McGrogan. While our Government does almost nothing well, it remains a world-leader in passive-aggressive, surreptitious nudging.

The US-UK trade deal announced today is a clear win for Trump, says Sam Ashworth-Hayes, leaving the UK worse off than in March and opening up UK markets in exchange only for reducing recently imposed tariffs.

As in Canada, so in Australia, the crushing defeat of the conservative Liberal Party by Labour has been widely blamed on Trump. But in truth, Peter Dutton and his team only have themselves to blame, says Prof James Allan.

Accurate info on Israel repressed

category international | miscellaneous | opinion/analysis author Monday September 01, 2003 21:46author by Audreyauthor email saidit at drizzle dot com Report this post to the editors

censorship alert!!

Indymedia-IE has censored accurate, verifiable information on the history and current political reality re Israel and the Middle East.

The indymedia-ie seems to be intolerant of a list of verifiable facts about Israel and the Middle East. Apparently there is no system of accountability on this site, either, so far as I could see, where stories that were "hidden" by the collective can be viewed by the public -- a feature on other indymedia sites. This is an outrage. Please check out what they have decided to censor at http://www.saidit.org/archives/feb03/oneway.html

If anyone else has had similar experiences with indymedia.ie, please contact me via email at saidit@drizzle.com

Aiden,

I posted on indy-ie twice only after the first time posting was suppressed. I have not posted the article on any site twice. Obviously, the article has not been posted on the main Indymedia site, either -- such information would never be posted there. Am I to assume that folks in Ireland go to Sweden for their information?

Maybe it would help if you made accessible a page that revealed the stories that are "hidden" with an explanation. Next?

Don't waste your time. This site is grotesquely anti-Semitic. It should be closed down by the authorities.

Israel is most definately a country that does not deserve to exist and would not exist without the three billion dollars and more that Israeli contolled America gives to it every year. This is not anti-semitism from me. My favourite man in the whole wide world is Noam Chomski, a jew. When is he going to be nominated for a Nobel prize?
Israel has it's grubby fingers in all the trouble spots of the world. A nasty bunch! What other country is allowed to get away with firing missiles into town centres killing innocent bystanders? Can you imagine the uproar if the Irish government fired off a couple of missiles into the centre of Belfast or Bristol? Or if Irish troops fired at an eight year old girl riding her bicycle killing her? Can you imagine the headlines? Yet Israelis do this almost daily and get away with it. Still, with there supporters controlling the media throughout the world they will continue to get away with such barbarism. An evil little country.

Caspian, the article is just providing information about what was in the history. I will be the first one to judge Israel`s actions in the Palestinian territories, but even I won`t ignore such facts.
