Are Social Media Posts Investigated More Than Physical Crimes? Sun May 25, 2025 13:00 | Richard Eldred
In today's Britain, you're more likely to be arrested for an offensive tweet than a burglary ? even though barely anyone gets charged and the public want police focused on real crime.

... who only fight for noble causes and never ever kill innocent women and children ....

Calling An Garda Siochána "icons of terror". You have a bloody cheek, miss. People like you need a good kick up the backside.
The (incoherent) style of the article and the photo-collage suggests that it was only more harmless babbling from iosaf/ispsiphi well known for his tendencies to wax lyrical and spout nonsense .....
nonsense is better than no sense
Poets are Preist
went walking yesterday with the European march/day for free spaces. in Barcelona traditionally thought of as one of the blackest of black blocks. this is what they say "oh they're very black block there".
and the ipsiphi saw oddles of beautiful and cute people of assorted ages.
The Ipsiphi didn't see any terrorists walking and can't report noticing anything else evenly remotely terrible.
SuzyQ of Philidelphia IMC is a cute woman.
read her words at the link:
unfortuanetly the police (all 3 types), felt the continuing need to mask up, dress down and if we hadn't walked between long banners which obscured their awful terribleness, I'm sure they would have scared the children.
Kit, beer, pipes & colored wigs, could almost be home reading the above link, but no mention of rain.
icons of terror that ought be so internalised they have now been properly reified and we are but left with the kernel of communicative hope.
Icons of terror?!
The naming of the intolerable is itself hope.-John Berger
Lets not get caught up in this childish vendetta against the guards.
Neo-liberalism is the icon of terror not ‘Paddy O’Reilly, your local policeman who is a grand lad unless you put a foot wrong and has a particular disliking for pierced student types’.
If there are now two superpowers after the bombing of Iraq (Bush & Co Vs everyone else) than surely all that is stopping the triumph of a more harmonious world order is the fact that we are divided.
She should have worn a mask, she must have been a stupid or a bit simple. Maybe if she had worn a mask or a stocking over her head, she wouldn't have been done for the hijacking.
Its all very well to look like some mystic romantic gobshite, but when the shit hits the fan, why do the time, when you can get away with crime, if you use your brain and have some forethought.
the Ipsiphi re-issues this montage of photos taken from a RTS day in Dublin as often as possible, for several reasons:
1. the gardaí like it. They log on and see their pals and giggle and chat. The ipsiphi likes when the background chatter of the gardaí goes up.
2. the punters like it. They log on and see their gardaí and giggle and chat. The ipsiphi likes the background chatter the gardaí always provokes.
3. it reminds foreign visitors how unusual the Gardaí are. They see one of Ireland's police forces without masks, without clubs, without teargas, without guns, without armoured vehicles. and then many of them make the comparison to their local police forces, and indeed some make the comparison between the friendly Garda and the other police force in Ireland the PSNI.
4. it acts as a barometer of antagonism. Thus Lola insists on linking to her Garda piece "don't call them pigs" well done, whilst others insist on linking to the Black Block parade "don't call them hooligans". Meanwhile, I walked with a section of Barcelona's community the "okupes" over the weekend, and we as collective enitiy chose not to mask up, and we chose to hide the police from us, by walking between banners. The police (4 varieties by the way- policia nacional de españa, guardia urbana BCN, mossos de esquarda BCN, FIES secret service España) were kitted up to the eyeballs, in military formation and intimidating. Many of those who went on the street were rightfully scared before hand to do so. It is quite something to exercise your rights to freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, etc., and face "icons of terror". There are reports in english on the weekend in BCN which included an extended media seminar sponsered by CSOA Les Naus, Luther Blisset and IMC barcelona on imc quebec, philidelphia, barcelona and uk. And here there is merely an allusion.
And some spoonfeeding:
In thirty years my dears, Osama shall occupy the same bedroom wall space as Lelia. And why not, he is a terrorist, he is moderatly good looking, he is famous, he is evocative, he has what the advert agencies term "household recognition".
In thirty years my dears, Kyong Hae Lee will not find himself on bedroom walls. He will not be recognised.
As for the illegality of posting or indeed re-posting photographs of garda siochana, oh dear, that would make an interesting case.
=I await the DPP file.
[be sure to get those technical details right now lads, like my name, address, etc.,]

now compare those photos and your attitude to the lovely gardaí with your other police force in Ireland:

nice to hear about the barcelonian protestin. why not have an "imc international" newspage on the frontpage (PerHaPs its a technique thing).
"Okupa! Okupa! Okupa tu también!" - a personal favourite.
The icons of the left are strange. slightly prettier than those of the right, on any level of leftness or fame:(che vs adolf, michael d vs michael mc d, lennin vs francis ? )
the icons of the left are abused : "che and the politics of the swp" : and used.

Meanwhile, during our fortnight focus on European occupation we saw loads of videos and stuff from various okupe collectives in Belgium, UK, Nederlands, USA.
3 residential squats were closed by the council.
1 residential squat was officially opened.
(more happen all the time)
and perhaps most worryingly CSOA Les Naus now has been issued a court hearing date.
