offsite link Are Social Media Posts Investigated More Than Physical Crimes? Sun May 25, 2025 13:00 | Richard Eldred
In today's Britain, you're more likely to be arrested for an offensive tweet than a burglary ? even though barely anyone gets charged and the public want police focused on real crime.

The legal case against the AfD has collapsed, says Eugyppius. At some point, you have to put the question: if the AfD is so evil and fascist and Hitler, why can?t anybody adduce any evidence of its evil Hitler fascism?

People can no longer rant about bloody murder, says James Alexander. The judges condemned Lucy Connolly as if she were Boadicea, but she was just a Shakespearian plebeian voicing the sentiments of anyone shocked by murder.

Solidarity from Ireland with the popular and indigenous struggle in Colombia!!!

category dublin | anti-war / imperialism | news report author Wednesday October 22, 2008 17:25author by Grupo Raíces - Grúpa Fréamhachaauthor email raices2007 at gmail dot com Report this post to the editors

Around 30 people met last Thursday 16th of October at the very heart of Dublin, the GPO, to stage a demo in solidarity with the Colombian popular and indigenous organisations in struggle for various demands, who have been met with full force by the repressive and dictatorial regime of Álvaro Uribe Vélez.

Our group expressed solidarity this way with the sugar-cane workers on strike, with the various government departments' workers on struggle, and with the Indigenous Movement who is on the march for their right to land and for their opposition against the FTA with the US. Also, we expressed our rejection of the criminalisation of social protests and strikes and to the State of emergency declared by Uribe to crack the workers' movement.

We also expressed our full support to the process of unity from below of the popular organisations in Colombia under the initiative of CoMoSoc (Coalition of Social Movements of Colombia) which pretends to coordinate grassroots struggles and organisations for a people's alternative.

Against Repression: solidarity with the Indigenous and Popular Organisations of Colombia!!!

Down with the State of emergency!!!
