Goodooga, northwest NSW, 26 November – Euahlayi activist Michael Anderson says the organisation being put together by Tom Calma totally ignores the more aggressive Aboriginal voices and will have prominent conservative Aborigines as key stakeholders.
Mr Anderson states in a media release that this is likely to repeat a history of conservative Aborigines joining forces with conservative government to thwart grassroots needs and aspirations. read full story / add a comment

“Someday Independent” is a 4 page leaflet produced by Dublin Shell to Sea. The design/layout and graphical work is of a very high standard and compares favourably to high cost, professionally produced brochures. The overall colour scheme and design is a pleasing blue “wave” design which is easy on the eye and appropriate to the subject material without drawing too much attention to itself. read full story / add a comment

With the EU guarantee to the Czech president, that the Czech State should not be exposed to property claims of expelled Germans after World War II, the EU not only implicitly consents with ethnical cleansings, it is also highly hypocritical, since the EU regularly points a finger to human rights violating countries like Sudan, Myanmar and Iran
It is high time the EU should look in its own mirror, among else with regard to police abuse, racism and violation of the rights of migrants and real or alleged terrorsuspects read full story / add a comment

These left wing parties, such as the SWP and the SP, claim that there are pro-working class solutions available to the Irish state within a capitalist paradigm. In making such reactionary claims they are merely attempting to fool the working class. There are only two solutions: a capitalist or a communist solution. read full story / add a comment

Brand new play about James Connolly's last days awaiting executecution.Unlike most plays about the Easter Rising where the leaders are depicted as archetypal and distant mythological figures here the protaganists strike you as human and familiar.Alternating between scenes portraying Jim,s family, his youth and the pollitical/millitary background the play is both deeply moving and informative. With a large cast of men, women & children the production itself reflects the ideals of equality and solidarity the subject deserves !

As an event in The Irish Times Celebrity Concert Series 2009/2010, Frederica Von Stade gave a recital of songs last night (121109) in The National Concert Hall. She was accompanied on piano by her friend Laurana Mitchelmore. The concert started at 20.00 and finished at 22.00. The audience was appreciative but a little more reverence and hush would have improved matters both for the performers and for those trying to get to grips with the performance. read full story / add a comment

Dear Reader: With all the talk of recession, bank bail outs, jobs losses, swine flu etc, the people of Ireland are being distracted from one of the most significant, disgusting and oppressive taxes, i.e Carbon tax, which the government are hoping to burden the country with. This tax will drive the price of food via an increase in transport costs, and the proposed farm animal tax will also further drive the price of meat up at source adding injury to insult. read full story / add a comment

This was the brainchild of a hotelier Joe Mahon who now wanted to throw turkeys from a 100ft roof for fun to see if they can fly. It’s a stunt for publicity by this sick bumkin in Fermanagh.
However as he now says he never said 'live' in his news release he insists he is using toy turkeys.
